The Soap
The exfoliant in this soap is pecan shell powder from the Sugarland Pecan Orchard in Louisiana. Pecan shell powder is packed with antioxidants and help remove dead skin cells and residue from oils, lotions, commercial soaps, etc. The soap is made with coconut oil, sodium hydroxide, castor oil, cocoa butter, Shea butter, grape seed oil, and virgin olive oil. This soap has the light scent of vanilla and sugar.

The Name
Pecan candy is also called pralines although historically they are not the same. Originally, pralines were sugar coated almonds. African Americans working in Louisiana kitchens of French settlers swapped out the almonds for pecans and added milk resulting in the rich creamy fudge-like candy. Many African American women provided for their families by vending pecan candy to tourists near Jackson Square in New Orleans. Today, vendors have been replaced by store fronts where if you’re lucky, you can watch the candy being made in real time and purchase a piece of sweet New Orleans history.

Yes. If the order is for soap favors, Please contact me at least 6 weeks in advance of the date you need the order. Cold processed soap has to cure for at least 4 weeks.

Care instructions

Please keep all products clean and dry as I don’t use preservatives in them. After using a soap bar, make sure it’s placed where water can drain allowing the soap to dry for a longer lasting bar.

Sizing details

For soap bars, sizing and weight are approximate as soap is hand cut. Finished weight is listed; however, it is possible for a bar to fall slightly below listed weight as it cures.
